Abstract

According to data from the Padang City Health Service for 2023, of the 24 health centers in Padang City, the Lubuk Begalung Health Center is the highest health center with 219 cases of pneumonia found in toddlers, but 257 of them were realized. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of health education based on animated video media on mothers' knowledge about preventing pneumonia in toddlers in the Lubuk Begalung Health Center Working Area, Padang. This research is a pre-experimental design, using a "one group pre test post test" design. This research was conducted in the Lubuk Begalung Padang Public Health Center Working Area using Total Population Sampling data collection techniques. Data processing using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The research results showed that the average knowledge of mothers before being given health education based on animated video media was fairly knowledgeable was 28 respondents (59.6%) and after being given health education based on animated video media the average mother had good knowledge of 37 respondents (78.7%). The asymptotic test results obtained from the Wicoxon Test, with a p-value of 0.000, can be concluded that there is an influence of health education based on animated video media on mothers' knowledge about preventing pneumonia in the Lubuk Begalung Health Center Working Area, Padang City.
