Abstract
This study aims to examine whether the implementation of the Discussion Method can improve the speaking skills of 10th-grade students at SMK N 1 Belimbing, Muara Enim, compared to conventional teaching methods. The research employs both qualitative descriptive and quantitative methods. Based on the findings of the study titled "The Effect of the Discussion Method on Student Achievement at SMK Negeri 1 Muara Enim," the results indicate that the Discussion Method variable has a calculated t-value of 2.793, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.052, with a significance level of 0.010 < 0.05. This means that the Discussion Method has a significant impact on teachers' job satisfaction at SMK Negeri 1 Muara Enim, confirming the acceptance of hypothesis H2. This study suggests that the Discussion Method can enhance student achievement, particularly in speaking skills. It is expected to benefit teachers at SMK N 1 Muara Enim and serve as a reference for future researchers who wish to explore similar studies with different variables.
