Persepsi Masyarakat Perumnas Prabu Indah Kota Prabumulih Terhadap Pengelolaan Air Buangan Rumah Tangga

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) know and review community perceptions that supported and obstructed the effort of environmentally household wastewater management at Prabu Indah Housing, Prabumulih 2) know strategy and model of household wastewater management. In collecting the data, this study used survey, interview, and documentation. The responders were taken from citizen of Prabu Indah Housing, Prabumulih, they were 543 people. The Simple random sampling technique was used in this stud , it was got 83 people by using formula N=(z/e)2 (P)(1-P). This study was analyzed by using qualitative, quantitative, and graphical descriptive. The data was gotten and delivered in percentage form. The results of study were: 1) Community who lived at Prabu Indah Housing, Prabumulih generally was aware effect of household wastewater if it was not managed with correct way and infrastructure. Household waste water will not only contaminated environment such as water, land, air but also endanger them such as dysentery, ascariasis, coli infection, marinum infection, and dengue fever. The community though that household wastewater was generated from chores waste. The wastewater consisted solid, liquid detergent, toothpaste, etc. the detergent element consisted surfactant and phosphate which potentially contaminated land, water and caused of eutrophication on water ecosystem. Although community was aware that household wastewater affected for human and environment., but community confessed that they had not had management way and infrastructure. The main obstacle was limited area and expensive cost. 2) The possible treatment strategy was making integrated household wastewater installation. It was an installation unit for some houses. This study gave comprehension of importance in keeping personal and environmental health, suggestion of household wastewater infrastructure for implementing eligibility and compatibility model, absolutely it needed further study.
